Auckland Transport – E & B Level Crossings

Auckland Transport and KiwiRail worked together on upgrades to level crossings that required the installation of new sensor activated pedestrian gates at four locations, Captain Springs level crossing, George Street level crossing, Bruce McLaren drive level crossing and Mount Lebanon level crossing, part of a project aimed at improving safety for pedestrians. Alpha Rail was engaged to do earthing & bonding installation and verification test plans.

The key works scope undertaken by Alpha Rail included:

• Installation of earthing on bonding on pedestrian maze fence panel to fence panel.
• Installation of earthing on bonding on pedestrian maze fence panel to Auto gate.
• Installation of earthing on bonding on pedestrian maze barrier arm to rail.
• Earth continuity testing on all bonding cables.
